We are heading for the 12th edition of the festival, which will take place on 21-23 september 2018, in Bucharest.

Kinofest is the first and most important digital film festival in Romania, since 2007. Kinofest is an independent project, that has the explicit goal of promoting young film-makers, artists and their work – film, music and visual art; and also, to cultivate the interest in and promote the arts and media culture among the general public throught independent film, video and new media making. We manage to bring every year a premium short film selection.

Few years ago, Kinofest expanded on internet, organising an online competition.

So, in 2018 we have three competition cathegories: one is online (1-23 September) and two are offline (21-23 September). The deadline for the film registration is July 31st 2018.

Online Animation Competition (1-23 September): the selected films will be uploaded on Youtube Kinofest (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBsd6sm3DreHwH6IxIJtr2w), and available for the public voting (with “like”). The film that gathers most vots will win the competition.

OFFline Kinofest Competitions (21-23 September): Animation and Fiction. For each section, the jury will choose the winners: Best Animation and Best Fiction. If the budget will allow us, we’ll have two more prizes – a Jury Prize for each offline competition.

The festival includes various events and projects: the film competitions, an Off-competition section, presentations and screenings of invited artists/films/festivals, music concerts, live performances. Starting from 2013, we’re working in developing the Kinofest Youtube Cannel. We publish there films from our official selection, and also any production that gathers our artistic standards, if the producer wants to be part of our project. On our YouTube channel we also host the online competition. We also have a section on our web page – Exhibition - where we publish digital art works from interesting artists all over the world.

There are more than 8 years since we started on our Facebook page to promote every day a shortfilm, and we called this rubric “Kinofest Daily Film”. More recently we started this also on our Twitter profile.

We happily accept film proposals for the Youtube channel and for Facebook/Twitter, there is no limit about the production date!

I therefore invite you to join us once again in our project, in Bucharest, hoping only for the best!
