LAST TIME IN CLERKENWELL – Alex Budovsky (Kinofest 2009/Animation)
Made in Flash. This animation is based on the track “Cloud Cuckoo Land” from the album “The London Book of the Dead” by British band The Real Tuesday Weld.
Film shows what happened to the Royal Legion of birds from the animation “Bathtime in Clerkenwell” (2002) after they took over London and came to power. The Bird Empire expands beyond the Earth boundaries and falls under unexpected circumstances.

Beirut is a short animated film where the main focus is not Beirut the city itself, but unfolds in it, as the main character finds herself an outsider in her own environment. The movie plays with the visual representation of the city. Beirut as a ruin, in a mixed media collage of today’s city, in what seems to be a post-apocalyptic time, or simply a deviated truth of everyday Beirut, where the water resources happen to have run completely dry.
